  • The Summa Domestica by Leila Lawler
This is a great three volume set that covers everything from philosophies on womanhood, to homemaking, motherhood and the education of children. Lawler's main idea is to help women become competent in the role as a wife and mother so that they may learn to love staying home. This is a set you will continually go back to for different things as they come up. One of the best Christmas gifts I've received as a wife by far!

  • The Empowered Wife by Laura Doyle
This book is a secular book, but don't that let deter you. Doyle lines out 6 ways that a wife can regain her husband's attraction and affection which was lost due to the behavior of the wife. I don't have a marriage that is on the rocks, but this book has shown me just how selfish I've been in my marriage and how easy it is for me to be disrespectful. I love that Doyle invites women to take responsibility for their actions, avoid marriage counseling (which doesn't help, and she will tell you why) and her goal is to end world divorce.

  • Around the Year with the Von Trapp Family by Maria Von Trapp
This book was the first inspiration for my husband and I to live more liturgically! Begin in the Advent section and your life will never be the same. Maria Von Trapp (you remember her from the Sound of Music) does a wonderful job of going through each liturgical season and feast day, explaining how their family celebrates. There is so much that you can pick and choose what you want to put into practice. There is recipes and songs and it follows the old calendar since it was before Vatican II, which was a plus for our family!

  • Love & Economics: why the Laissez-Faire family doesn't work by Jennifer Roback Morse
This is an excellent book that really puts into perspective, from a more secular understanding, the importance of self-giving love in family life, and how a free-market, Libertarian idea of personal freedom doesn't work in this area. It is a practical book that puts into perspective what our priorities should be if we want our children to grow into stable, happy adults.

  • @FitFrugalMom
A great resource for meal planning, grocery shopping, and saving lots of money!! This woman taught me how to meal plan efficiently each week and shop so that the money goes further, and food is stocked up in the pantry for later! The only bad thing about this channel is having to watch her score great deals at Kroger, knowing that I don't, and probably never will, have one in my area.
