About Me
Hi there!
Welcome to Cheerful at Home; my little corner of the internet.
I'm Gina. My husband Jonathan and I have been married for almost three years now and the adventure of marriage just keeps getting better and better!
We currently live in the small town where I grew up. Recently, we moved into a home on a couple of acres and we are living out our homesteading dreams as best as the city will allow us to!
As we wait for God to bless us with children, we keep busy with our pets, many chickens, and of course our sweet goddaughter who lives next door.
This blog has been in the making (in my brain at least) for many years! I've dreamed about being a stay at home wife and a writer for a long time, like, before trad-wives were a thing. Now I'm so blessed to be living out that dream!
One of the roadblocks for me when starting this blog was coming up with a name. It's a lot of pressure! I know people say you can always change it later, but I wanted to come up with something timeless and applicable to whatever it was that I was writing about.
I chose the name Cheerful at Home after one of my favorite bible verses.
Now this I say: He who soweth sparingly, shall also reap sparingly: and he who soweth in blessings, shall also reap blessings. Every one as he hath determined in his heart, not with sadness, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
This verse is what I aspire to be; a cheerful giver! Sometimes it's easier to be sad, serious, and just indifferent to the craziness (or the mundane) that life throws at me. But I want to be cheerful in everything, taking on my life with a childlike love of all of God's gifts, totally giving of myself to those I love, with a smile on my face.
It's harder than it looks, but with this little blog I hope to make it fun, documenting all the joys and sorrows. I hope that it is encouraging to women who desire this lifestyle. I am by no means an expert on anything written here, I only want to share my experiences as I go.
I dedicate this blog to Mary, my heavenly mother, that everything written here may be pleasing to her, and her Son.💖
